John Menzies plc (John Menzies) today, 20 March 2007, announces a new management structure to take the business through to the next stage of its development and so maximise shareholder value.

 

From today the management structure will be as follows:

 

 

William Thomson, Chairman, said: "Patrick Macdonald has transformed and developed the company to a point where the new management teams and operating disciplines which he has put in place are now sufficiently robust to implement successfully the key strategic goals set by the Group Board for the divisions.  Today's reorganisation marks a further logical step in the development of the company. I would sincerely like to thank Patrick for his significant contribution in making the business what it is today.  I am delighted he will remain available to us until the end of April.  I wish him all continued success in the future."

 

Patrick Macdonald, Chief Executive, said: "Over the last four years and through a period of significant market change, John Menzies has become a much more dynamic and robust business.  Menzies Aviation is delivering on its high growth potential internationally while Menzies Distribution is repositioning and adapting to a rapidly changing market with speed and energy.  I am proud of the achievements of the strong teams we have built at both divisions.  Each division's strategy is clear and their leadership teams are now ready to take full responsibility for operational delivery.
