John Menzies plc, the time critical logistics company, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Menzies Distribution Limited (Menzies), has entered into a conditional joint venture agreement with Eason & Son Ltd (Eason).

The joint venture will see Menzies and Eason combine their Newspaper and Magazine distribution businesses in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The new venture at its start up will have estimated gross assets of £6.1m.

 

The new venture will deliver newspapers and magazines to some 5,200 retailers.

 

The deal is subject to certain approvals and is expected to complete in the New Year.
