Appointment of New Non-Executive Director
JOHN MENZIES PLC MAKES NON-EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT TO BOARD AND APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
John Menzies plc (Menzies) today announces that Iain S Robertson has been appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st November 2004. In addition, Robin Peters has joined the management team as Director of Business Development.
Mr Robertson (58) is a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Bank of Scotland ('RBS') where he is Chairman of the Corporate Banking and Financial Markets division. He was appointed to the RBS Board in January 1993, becoming non-executive in June 2003. He is also Chairman of British Empire Securities and General Trust plc, was recently appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of Cairn Capital Ltd, and is a chartered accountant.
Robin Peters (38) recently joined Menzies from DHL, where he was head of the Global Integration Office. He has previously held corporate development and general management positions in Rothmans International, OC&C Strategy Consultants and Lucas Industries, and achieved an MBA at INSEAD.

Menzies will announce its Interim Results on 7th September.
