ACQUISITION OF EXECAIR AVIATION SERVICES

John Menzies plc, through its subsidiary Menzies Transport Services ("MTS"), has bought Edinburgh-based aircraft handler Execair (Scotland) Ltd ("Execair"), and its subsidiary Express Handling (Scotland) Ltd ("Express Handling).
Execair is an executive aircraft handling and fuelling company operating at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Birmingham airports, with turnover of over £4m p.a. In addition through its subsidiary, Express Handling, it provides a cargo handling service at Edinburgh airport.
David Mackay, Chief Executive of John Menzies, said:
"The acquisition of Execair is a significant development for Menzies Transport Services. It not only expands our airport ground handling operation into Scotland for the first time, but also further extends the range of support services in which MTS is involved.
MTS is delighted to be involved in providing a high quality service to executive aircraft operators and users at three Scottish airports, just as Scotland achieves its own Parliament, and at Birmingham, a premier UK airport and a major international exhibition centre.
This is part of our long-term strategy which has seen MTS grow from a largely cargo-handling business at Heathrow into a major UK operator offering a wide range of airport services, from passenger and baggage handling to ramp handling and, now, executive aircraft handling."
